wash hair day after relaxer

Hello damsels,
Last night I decide to wash my hair since my relaxer. During my hair wash routine, I didn't deep condition my hair. Items used are

  • Profectiv mega growth stimulating shampoo
  • Protein treatment - Aphogee intensive 2 minutes keratin reconstructor
  • Profectiv mega growth detangling conditioner
  • Organics liquid leave-in hair mayonnaise
  • Coconut oil
  • Cotton T shirt for absorption of water
Procedure used for wash hair day
  1. First detangle the hair with fingers and then divided the hair into four sections and comb.
  2. I dilute some amount of my shampoo with little amount of water and washed my hair. Focused on the scalp to remove any dirty or excessive hair products build up and rinse with warm water.
  3. Wrap my hair with a cotton T shirt for 20 minutes to absorb any excess water.
  4. While my hair is still damp I applied Aphogee intensive 2 mins reconstructor and covered with my shower cap for 20 mins without heat.
  5. Rinse it off with cold water and apply profectiv detangling conditioner. Leave for 5 mins to soften the hair, comb and rinse.
  6. Wrap the hair with cotton T shirt for 20 mins.
  7. Apply the organic liquid leave-in hair mayonnaise and wait for 5 minutes.
  8. Finally I applied the coconut oil as sealant. I detangled the hair in smaller sections. Made a ponytail and off to bed. Leave it to air dry before morning.
I hope you enjoyed today's topic. Will deep condition next week.

au revoir!

Thinning edges

Hi dear,
It's being a while. Today we are discussing on thinning edges. I am also a victim of thinning or damaged hair edges. Our edges are the most fragile part of our hair.  Any woman can experience thinning, breaking, or balding edges. It’s not just women who are relaxed, wear weave, or are older. There are numerous reasons why your hairline can thin. Hair loss is not confined to men alone but also occurs in women too. Frequent touching these area will cause more damage to our edge by straining them. There are various factors that could cause thinning of our hair edges.

Causes of thinning edges

Wearing tight hair styles

When you wears too frequently hair style such as weaves(corn row), tight pony tail, using glue in lace front weavon, tight or micro braiding. These style pulls our edges, weaken it and pull the hair strands off from the root.

fine fragile hair strains

Having a fine hair line can be prone to hair breakage at the edges. It's advisable to gentle hair styling and maintenance.

Genetic
some thinning edges are hereditary.

Post partum sheddingFrequent  after child's birth

Mothers tend to experience hair loss few months after child's birth or breast feeding due to hormonal changes.

Certain health conditions such as iron deficiency, anemia, hypothyroidism, weight less or hormone imbalance.

How to prevent thinning edges

  • Massage the edges with hair growth stimulating oils such as coconut, avocado oil, castor oil etc.
  • Regular hair protein treatment.
  • Avoid any hair styles that strain your hair at the edges.
  • Take hair supplements.
  • Sleep with satin cap or pillow case.
  • Avoid brushing your hair often but apply protective gel at the edge.
  • Eat balance diet.
  • Drink enough water.
  • Regular exercise to increase blood flow in the scalp.
